This one’s a little different - think personal (cue the deep sigh).
Hi, my name is Nala, and I’m the founder of Note It Down 😊
I started the business back in 2020 - yes, right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. Sounds a bit wild, right? I had been on the hunt for beautiful, well-made notebooks but couldn’t find anything that I resonated with. And like many other founders out there, I thought: why not create my own? Just like that, Note It Down was born.
Looking back now, it still feels a bit surreal. But wow - look at what we’ve built over the years!
The initial reception was amazing. I knew in my heart that I was onto something - not just in terms of business, but also the impact our products were having on people. The feedback we received during those early days affirmed it.
But then, as the world began to “thaw” out of the COVID era and offices reopened under the guise of the new normal, life changed. For me, that meant less time to create, less time to run the business the way I wanted to, and honestly... less time for myself. And it showed. 😔
There’s a quote I’ve seen floating around a lot lately: a business can only grow as much as its founder. I felt that deeply. After plateauing, going full-time into the business, navigating life’s many curveballs, and even hitting what I can only describe as my personal rock bottom - it all took a toll.
But here’s the beautiful part: I’m slowly finding my way back. One page at a time.
Lately, I’ve been leaning into the very tools I created—journaling and planning. I’ve been consistently using my 2025 Annual Planner (psst... the 2026 one is coming 👀) and my Ruled Journal, and I can honestly say: I feel different. The structure is gently returning, my mind is finally beginning to decompress, and perhaps most beautifully - my creativity has come back home.
Would I recommend it? 💯 yes!
If you’re in a season that feels foggy or overwhelming, try journaling. I personally love free-flow journaling, but if you need a little guidance to get started, our Reflection Journal is a gem - it’s full of prompts that gently help you reconnect with yourself.
For finding structure and routine, you could start with a daily or weekly planner, then build from there (here's a guide to help you choose the best one for you). I promise, your future self will thank you.
Side note: Writing this has been unexpectedly refreshing - maybe you’ll be seeing more pieces like this up on the blog soon. Let’s see where this creative spark takes us.
Hugs,
Nala
